Meet Daniel aka VPA

Daniel stumbled into the endurance sports arena after losing his mother to an undiagnosed heart condition. He has completed 50+ endurance events. He is a 23x Ironman and Ironman 70.3 finisher. Daniel is also a certified Vegan Lifestyle Coach, certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from eCornell and the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies, an Ironman certified coach, and the founder of the Vegan Lifestyle Brand Vegan Powered Athlete (VPA) and Team VPA.

Daniel visited his doctor after his mother's passing in 2013 and discovered he had high cholesterol and high blood pressure. This was a shock as Daniel believed he lived a healthy lifestyle. His doctor warned he was headed down the same path as his mother and prescribed medications he would be on for the rest of his life. Daniel went home that evening and instantly made the shift to a Vegan diet by removing any food with cholesterol from his kitchen. In turn removing all animal products from his diet. Daniel soon began to feel really good and began his endurance career at the same time. He completed his first Half Marathon 3 months later and followed up with his doctor for retests. Daniel's doctor was shocked to see his cholesterol and blood pressure plummet to normal levels. Needless to say, he never did fill those prescriptions. Over the course of the first year, Daniel lost over 40 pounds and continued his endurance path which has included everything from Sprint triathlons to full distance Ironmans to 50 mile trail runs, all on a Vegan diet.

After getting hit by a car in 2019, Daniel took the down time from training to pursue Vegan Education and Nutrition. He was certified as a Vegan Lifestyle Coach & Educator from the Main Street Vegan Academy and got certified in Plant Based Nutrition from eCornell and the T. Collin Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies. Working with individuals on bettering their health was rewarding for Daniel but he felt there was always something missing....RECIPES!! This was always the number 1 question clients had. Daniel is excited to add this piece to the puzzle and help as many people as possible make an easy transition to a Vegan diet and lifestyle!
